This explanation assumes the use of Windows 2000. If Windows XP is used, refer to the manual included with Windows XP to take the necessary steps.
  Step 1:Windows and Browser Setup

  1. Setup Windows 2000 (English version) on the PC to be used.
  2. Once Windows 2000 setup is complete, connect to the Internet and use the Windows Update page to setup Internet Explorer Version 6.0 SP1.
  3. In a similar manner, use the Windows Update page to apply Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 and the various service packs required to update Internet Explorer.
  4. Once Internet Explorer has been installed, set up the necessary Java software.
Download and install Sun Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition 1.4.2_02(Windows Offline Installation, Windows Platform).
    It can be downloaded from:
    http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_02/index.html

Step 2:Setup of the Conformance Test Suite

  1. Setup the Conformance Test Suite.
When necessary, refer to "SCORM1_2_TestSuite1_2_7ST_ReadMe.htm" provided with the product regarding the method for setting up ADL SCORM(TM) Version 1.2 Conformance Test Suite Version 1.2.7.
  2. Double click on the "TestSuite1.2.7ST" icon created when installing the Conformance Test Suite on Windows to start the Conformance Test Suite, and check that the application is running properly.
Once you have checked that the application is running properly, close the window and terminate the Conformance Test Suite.

Step 3:Setup of the Multi-Byte Module

  1. Setup the Multi-Byte Module.
Run setup.exe and follow the instructions on the screen.
  2. This screen is shown during setup.

Select the folder in which you just installed the Conformance Test Suite.
(The default installation folder is "C:\ADL\TestSuite1_2_7\".)

  3. Make settings in Windows 2000 (English Version) for displaying languages other than English.
Open the [Control Panel] and double click on [Regional Options].
Select the [General] tab and choose the language used in testing from the language list shown in [Language settings for the system] and fill in the check box.
Click on [Apply] to confirm the selections.
The necessary files are copied. Follow the instructions and insert the Windows CD if it is required during the copying stage.
Follow the instructions and restart Windows if this required.
  4. (Optional steps: These steps may be omitted)
If entry of languages other than English is required in the process of testing, input can be made possible using the following procedure.
Open the [Control Panel] and double click on [Keyboard].
Select the [Input Locales] tab and click on [Add] shown in [Installed input locales].
Select the language and keyboard layout used in testing from the [Add Input Locale] window that is displayed, then click [OK].
The necessary files are copied. Follow the instructions and insert the Windows CD if it is required during the copying stage.
Follow the instructions and restart Windows if this required.
